On Sunday, the CEMS Club Belgium held its first Charity Run, organised by the CSR Team – with the objective of making this a yearly event. The main idea is to gather LSM students, Alumni and CEMS Corporate Partners for a run to raise awareness of the importance of doing sports and raise money for a special cause.
This year, we ran for SunChild, a Brussels-based NGO whose aim is to make the life of ill children easier by financial and moral support. The money raised came from the participation fee and the generous donations from our athletes.
Participants competed on a distance of 8km, running around the Lake of Louvain-la-Neuve. Although the runners of this first edition were mainly CEMS Students, a few students from UCL showed up to run alongside them. The weather was not on our side (rain and snow!) but the runners were unstoppable… and so were the proud supporters!
The two winners of the Male and Female category were Clément Lagache (28’37”), Silke Cornelis (34’55”), Johanne Falck-Pedersen (37’40”) and Ophélie Thomas (41’17”) and each of them got an exclusive Kiehl’s product kit thanks to the generosity of our corporate partner L’Oréal. All in all, we collected more than 100€ for SunChild!
Thank you to all those who joined, cheered and donated money to the charity. See you next year for the second edition!
